The last book I read in 2011 was "The Rules of Civility" by Amor Towles. My recommendation: Go get a copy - you'll love it. I found it charming, Gatsby-esque, fresh-voiced and compelling. See Nancy March's guest blog of it here.
My first read (currently on page 59) for 2012 is "Admission" by Jean Hanff Korelitz, at the recommendation of my sister (and loan of said book).
I'd love to know what you're reading now, or might recommend. Post it in a comment!
Here's a book-blog-worthy quote for the New Year:
"We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day."
~Edith Lovejoy Pierce.
Here's to good reading in 2012!
