American Wasteland author Jonathan Bloom to speak at The Hill School Thursday

JONATHAN BLOOM
Jonathan Bloom, author of "American Wasteland: How America Throws Away Nearly Half of Its Food (and What We Can Do About It)" and the popular Wasted Food blog, is scheduled to speak at The Hill School in Pottstown on Thursday on the topic of Wasted Food.

Bloom’s address will be held in The Hill School’s Center For The Arts Theatre at 7:30 p.m. It is free of charge and open to the general public.

To learn more, here is Evan Brandt's article previewing that event, from today's Mercury. Visit Brandt's blog, Digital Notebook, here, for more on the topic of food waste and Bloom's Hill School visit.

Also, you can help hungry people right here in the Pottstown area: As part of this event, The Hill School has been designated a drop-off location for The Mercury's "Fill the Media Lab Food Drive" initiative to help collect items for area food shelters. Attendees of Bloom's appearance at The Hill School are encouraged to bring canned/boxed goods, laundry detergent, and other non-perishable items to support these efforts.
