Writing workshop offered in Exton

If you're looking for some help with your own writing, here's some information on an upcoming weekend workshop in Chester County:

Writing Workshop for Adults
Mastering Writing

Saturday, Oct. 8 & Sunday, Oct. 9

Bring your manuscript, collection of personal essays, poetry – or simply the blank page - for a weekend of writing, inspiration, and connecting with other writers.

This workshop is guided by Susan Weidener, author, editor and writing facilitator. Through readings and prompts that stimulate ideas and reflection, we will work on narrative and storytelling skills, read to each other in small and large groups, and offer supportive feedback on our writing. Time for solitude and writing will be provided. Optional one-on-one consultation with Susan on writing techniques and publishing options is included.

Joining Susan will be Cynthia J. McGroarty. Cynthia has a MFA in Creative Writing. She is a writer and editor, a creative writing instructor, and an adjunct professor of English at DeVry University. She will offer a session titled. Dramatize It! How to Make the Most of Voice, Scene and Dialogue.  Cynthia will also offer a session examining the genre of creative nonfiction. From personal essays and memoir to journalism and diaries, we will discuss ways to write creative nonfiction and write some brief passages of our own.

WHEN: Saturday, Oct. 8 (8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) Sunday, Oct. 9 (9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.)

WHERE: Fairfield Inn, 5 North Pottstown Pike, Exton, PA
